hii!
idk if you knew this, but "soulbond" and "plural identity" are vv harmful terms
:( theyre pro endo (endogenic, aka a "system" without trauma) and endos scientifically cant exist. /info
basically, systems like ourself stem from childhood trauma. before the ages of 9-12, your brain is physically unable to create a solid identity. normally, by that age, what we call "facets" or "fragments" of identity will either:
- fuse together, creative your identity (which is ever-changing but now has a "root"); or
- disappear for any reason
but when someone goes through extreme trauma before that age, those facets are unable to develop properly and instead become identities. this results in DID/OSDD/USD, which are the only ways plurality can exist.
soulbonding is (and correct me if im wrong) the practice of creating a spiritual connection with someone or something, or bringing their soul/spirit into your body. this is similar to introjecting (having an alter form based on a real person, fictional character, etc.) but alters cannot be made intentionally as they form at the brain's subconscious and not the conscious. therefore, it isn't possible and soulbonding is purely misinformation.
likewise, "plural identity" is equally harmful if not even more so because it implies that one can just "identify" as a system or as having fragmented identity, which in turn mutes the people like me whove been through horrible things and had to suffer for it our whole life. if plurality was an identity, then 100% of real systems would identify as singlet because it really isnt fun.
please remove those from your blog... /nm /lh
I am begging you to at least think about what you're doing and saying when you come to a person and ask them to negate and deny their entire personhood and entire lived existence to make you comfortable and to conform to your worldview.
This is what you are doing when you come to a spiritual plural or a spiritual fictionkin and say "stop using those words, because I don't believe in those things".
When you say "DID/OSDD/USD, are the only ways plurality can exist" to someone who has lived the past 30 years of their life as a spiritual plural system you are saying "you don't exist, and I want you to deny your own existence for my comfort."
You are literally coming to me and telling me my soul doesn't exist.
You don't think that's a fucked up thing to say to someone, even if you believe it?

Sinister System terminology, differences in fronting vs shifts
Some people seemed interested in our internal experience, so I've written up a little bit of a guide to help it make sense.
system member: a distinct person/soul who is one of many sharing this body.
kintype: the identity of a soul during a particular lifetime experience.
kin source: the media in which a kin life/kintype is reflected.
kin shift: a particular system member experiencing a greater psychological, emotional, and/or spiritual state where they are embodying a particular kintype in the present moment. A sort of psychological/emotional/spiritual regression to or manifestation of a specific kintype's traits and experiences.
collective shift: when several different system members are experiencing a kin shift to their various personal identities during the same source lifetime.
fronting/taking the front/switching: A particular system member takes control of the body. A fronting member experiences the direct sensory input from the body, has a distinct internal monologue which is 'louder' than the internal thoughts of members who are not fronting, has primary control over the actions and reactions of the body.
Sinister system:
Has roughly 25 distinct system members
Each system member has around 19 kintypes in addition to their overall personal singular identity.
A system member may be experiencing a particular kin shift at any given time. Often multiple system members are in a collective shift.
Let's walk through some abbreviated examples.
Some sinister system members are
😼🔪 (Jas)
🌀😎 (Akechi)
🔍⚔️ (Kirigiri)
Each of these system members shares the same kin sources. They experienced several lifetimes in which they were born and interacted with separate identities in the same world.
Some of their kin sources are: Homestuck, Danganronpa, Resident Evil, and Great Ace Attorney.
That means that each distinct system member has a kintype that aligns with each source.
😼🔪 Jas' kintypes are: Vriska Serket (Homestuck), Toko Fukawa (Danganronpa), Karl Heisenberg (Resident Evil) and Yuujin Mikotoba (Great Ace Attorney)
🌀😎 (Akechi)'s kintypes are: Cronus Ampora (Homestuck), Nagito Komaeda (Danganronpa), Albert Wesker (Resident Evil), and Kazuma Asogi (Great Ace Attorney)
🔍⚔️ (Kirigiri)'s kintypes are: Dave Strider (Homestuck), Kyoko Kirigiri (Danganronpa), Tyler Howard (Resident Evil), and Barok Van Zieks (Great Ace Attorney).
When 🔍⚔️ (Kirigiri) is fronting, that means that 🔍⚔️ is the person primarily processing data from the body's senses, making decisions, acting using the body, and experiencing a loud inner monologue.
When 🔍⚔️ (Kirigiri) is fronting, 🔍⚔️ is still Dave Strider, Kyoko Kirigiri, Tyler Howard, and Barok Van Zieks all at once, because these are all lives that 🔍⚔️ has experienced. He has access to the emotions and memories relevant to all of his kintypes, and they all motivate him to a greater or lesser degree.
However, if/when 🔍⚔️ is experiencing a particular kin shift, then the experiences, emotions and memories relevant to that particular shift will be dominate over his other experiences while he's experiencing the shift.
So for example, in a Homestuck kin shift 🔍⚔️ will act more like Dave Strider, because his thoughts, memories, emotions and preferences will be more closely aligned with who he was during that time, and the experience of his other lives will still be present, but have less priority over his actions and thoughts. His experience as Dave will have more immediate relevance to whatever he's doing, and will be experienced more heavily and as if it were more current than his other lives.
If the system is in a collective Homestuck shift, then it means that 🔍⚔️is in a Dave shift, 🌀😎 is in a Cronus shift, and 😼🔪 is in a Vriska shift, all at the same time. The lifetime of Homestuck is most immediately relevant to the entire system if we're experiencing a collective Homestuck shift.
However, not everyone is always in a collective shift. There are times where 🔍⚔️ is in a Dave/Homestuck shift, but 😼🔪 is in a Toko/Danganronpa shift, etc.
We are open to answering any questions, clarifying or otherwise that people might have about our experiences.

Finally realized and came out as a plural system today. Let's look at what the Tumblr community has to offer about plurality support as a complex trauma survivor.
oh.
oh no.
oh fuck.

You know what’s wild about being a fictive? Missing your old life even though it was shitty because it’s a shittiness you were used to. The life you’re living now is a new kind of shitty that feels unpleasant in a different way.

Started thinking about how Dick lost the two most important people in his life at the age of 8 and since then death has never left him. It's just so heartbreaking because it will never stop affecting him. He can't stop caring, he can't possibly stop loving the people who enter his life no matter how high the chances he'll lose them too are. He could lose his whole family, all his friends ('s been close both, even if some eventually came back) and yet he would never stop welcoming people in his life because his heart is just so big and he has so much love to give.

We are not, in fact, "endogenic". (We have no problem with people who use that term.)
What we are is something I'm sure anti-endos would hate even more.
If we had to describe ourselves with a "genic" label it would be something like "magicgenic" (magigenic? magenic?)
Our system was formed due to magical, spiritual forces outside of us, and outside of our full control.
I have no idea if a term like this is already in use, I'm use rambling here.

We are a fictive plural system, and we write a lot of fanfiction about our source media.
We also have a partner– also a fictive system– who is our writing partner.
When the circumstances are right, writing fanfiction based on our source media with our partner system allows us to write twice as fast, or faster, than we would be able to on our own.
When the circumstances are right.
Here's the thing.
Imagine that the brain is a computer, and that a complete identity (in this case a fictive) is a single program installed on that computer.
In these terms, our computer has about 30 different programs installed on it that can be used. And our partner system has another 30 completely different programs installed on their computer.
If we're writing a fanfiction scene that involves one character who is a program installed on our own hardware this is about as easy as breathing.
Opening one of these programs on our computer gives us access to all the memories, emotions, impulses, preferences, desires, reflexes etc of the character that the program belongs to.
Running one program on the hardware requires very little in terms of processing power (and is in fact, mandatory for running the computer at all. If the computer is running, it's running at least one program just to interact with the world.)
However, let's say we're writing a scene that involves two characters– both of whom are installed on our computer, and not on our partner's computer.
We have two choices.
We can laboriously open and close each program as we need it, so that we're only running one at a time. This however, depletes the computer's battery power, tends to throw error messages, and sometimes just fails entirely.
Or we can open both programs and let them run concurrently at the same time. This drains battery power too– but less than opening and closing programs repeatedly However it also uses a lot of processing power. It slows down the computer as the computer has to devote resources to both program's behavior at the same time.
Every time we need an additional character in our system for the scene, we have to open another program. This uses additional battery power and processing power. It slows every task down even further, and if you open enough programs, the brain ceases to be able to handle it, starts throwing error messages, and might even overheat.
However, if we're writing a fanfiction scene that involves one character from our system– one program from our computer, and one character from our partner's system– one program from their computer– then we essentially get to network our computers together and run two programs with no slowdown.
Writing two character scenes where one character is on our system and one character is in their system is ridiculously easy to the point where it feels like magic. And even adding more characters is easier, because splitting four programs over two computers is easier than running four programs at once on one computer.
But of course it becomes logistically frustrating– because the characters we want to write together aren't always distributed in the most beneficial way between systems..
And that's why some of our fanfiction takes a long time to write and sometimes it comes out really fucking fast. 😂

unidentified memory fragment
Memory of freestanding clawfoot tub with shower in a small, run down apartment bathroom. The tub rests on orange and yellow tiles which are rough-texture with deep grooves between them them, and are in small, wide triangular shapes. The porcelain of the tub is stained, and likewise, the metal of the tub's feet has stained the tiles below it. There is one small, high window in the room, a toilet, and a narrow sink.
no idea whose or where this memory is from, but it accompanied thoughts of when hot water used to be scarce or run out for a whole apartment building, and the final song from the musical 'chicago' popped in our heads afterward.
memory occurred while walking back from doing laundry.
"I" whoever "I" was in the memory was reaching down to inspect the tiles of the floor under the bathtub claws.

it makes me happy seeing ppl be openly themselves. only queer, openly kinky, openly mad, openly plural, openly "problematic." authentic and themselves and unapologetic about it!!! I love freaks and I love proud freaks and I love everyone who can say "the world wants me dead and gone but im alive against all odds and I'll never not be proud of that!" I really am happy for you, keep living and keep being yourself. live no matter what, live happily and with those you love and those who love you. against all odds. live and be proud of it, always be proud of it

Shoutout to after-lifers! Whether you're of a spiritual origin or not, it can be rough to have died in your previous life/source and then be dropped into the system. Maybe the system feels like your afterlife, your inbetween, or your second chance. You get to decide what this all means to you - what your death means to you, what your memories mean to you. After-lifers are wonderful and strong and versatile! Your existence has worth and only you get to choose where things go after your death.

on that note, i think there's a lot of merit in talking about the happy, weird, or even silly parts of being a system. because at least for me, being a system can be really, really scary-- especially in the beginning, when i was first discovering that's what was happening, i was terrified. the origin of my system is pretty brutal, something i wouldn't talk about in detail to someone i don't already trust deeply. but we're not defined by our trauma, our plurality just came from it. we're all still people, individuals with our happy moments and our sad moments. i don't think anyone should be defined by the worst things they've experienced, systems included.
and also, when people think of systems, of someone with "multiple personalities", the first things they think of (thanks in huge part to awful media representation) are the scary things, the tragic things, the unrealistically violent things. talking about the day-to-day discoveries and occurrences that are unique to plurality-- yes, even the "cringe" or the "quirky" that make us look like we're "faking it" to someone who doesn't know better-- is incredibly important for breaking the stigma around DID and OSDD. because believe it or not, fun system fact, systems don't go through heartbreaking, life-altering trauma every single day. i know, right?
so before you recoil at someone you think is being "too silly" to be real, ask yourself this: do you know this person/this system's entire life story from the one single post you're seeing? or even from reading their entire public blog? do you know who they are more intimately than they know themselves? is this really about them "faking it", or do you want a reason to dehumanize a person so far that their only visible trait is their trauma?
and even if you are right, and they are faking it, what do you stand to gain from running the risk of denying a system who *is* real of their identity?
